HP: We gather at Lammas to celebrate the first fruits of our labor.  We know that in order to garner our full harvest, we must have tools that will cut the grain cleanly or stack the hay in the loft for winter’s storage.  We sharpen our scythes and mend broken handles.  Even though we have moved away from being an agrarian society, we all have the tools of our trade, the things we need to get the job done.

Each of you has chosen a god or goddess name that resonates with you and is associated with your job.  Think about that name and why you chose it.  Now receive the blessing from your chosen aspect of deity and know that it goes with you in your daily labors.  Feel the blessing come, like waters pouring over you, like fire burning all around you, like the wind of a hurricane, like the mountains springing into being.

We ask that The God of the Harvest and The Goddess of Abundance bless these tools.  We ask that They imbue our implements of labor and business with good intention, steadfast effort and success.  Blessed are these tools, the utensils and the implements we use to have a career, to make a living, to pay the bills and to support ourselves and our family.

We ask Oghma for the blessing of clear communication with our coworkers and clients.  We ask Fortuna and Lakshmi for prosperity and good fortune in our careers.  We ask Lord Ganesh to remove the obstacles we face in our work environment.  We ask Bastet for the joy that comes from a job well done.  We ask Maia for her blessing of growth and increase in our careers.  We thank The Divine for all generosity and blessings.  So mote it be!
