DEDICATION RITUAL  (Egyptian Pantheon)

Casting the Circle:

Sweep the area with the magick broom, casting out the negative energy.

Use this simple rhyme: Sweep, sweep with this broom/All bad out of this room/Sweep, sweep all good in/The bad never to return again.

Take the bowl of water (Water), walk deosil around the circle.  Say: I walk this circle once around, To cleanse and consecrate this ground.

Take the bowl of salt (Earth), walk deosil around the circle.  Say: I walk this circle once again.  Between the worlds all time can bend.

Take the censer with incense burning in it (Fire and Air), walk deosil around the circle.  Say: I walk the circle thrice this time for the protection of the Lord and Lady are mine.

Then use the athame to mark the area and actually cast the circle.  Begin in the East, move to the right and point the tip of the athame, inscribing the circle, picturing energy coming out and forming a magick sphere.

Calling the Watchtowers (begins with the East):

Once all four Quarters have been called, face the center of the circle and then say:

“The Circle is Cast and we are between worlds, beyond the bounds of time, where night and day, birth and death, joy and sorrow, meet as one.”

Greetings and the ritual kiss.

Invocation of the Deities:

(Use a candle for each of these deities: Silver for Isis, Gold for Osiris, Blue for Horus, Yellow for Ra, Red for Maat, Black for Thoth)

In this day and in this hour I call upon the ancient power of Isis, Osiris, Horus, Ra, Maat, and Thoth. b

I am in perfect alignment with Isis, also known as Austet, Anqet and Usert; she is the greatest and most loved of the goddesses.  Her celestial symbol is the star Sirius, the source of life.  She is the Lady of Love, a mighty earth goddess, she has unlimited attributes.  She holds magickal knowledge and gives great protection to those she loves.  She confers the power of inspiration and creativity; she is the quintessence of life, the eternal vivifying creative female power.  I ask her to lend me her power this day.

Light the Gold candle for Osiris, while saying:

Osiris, the Sun beyond the sun, the god of the dead who brings immortality, lend me your power this day.

Light the Blue candle for Horus, while saying:

Horus, Most Formidable Warrior, Most Divine Light who keeps the balance between that Light and Darkness, lend me your power this day.

Light the Yellow candle for Ra, while saying:

Ra, The Sun God, Father to us all, Creator of all possibilities, lend me your power this day.

Light the Red candle for Maat, while saying:

Maat, the Presence of beginning and end, in all Times and all Worlds, She of Truth and Justice, lend me your power this day.

Light the Black candle for Thoth, while saying:

Thoth, the Universal Mind, Divine Intelligence, Counterpart to Maat, weighing her feather against our hearts, lend me your power this day.

Statement of Purpose:

The circle has been cast this day that I may perform the act of dedication of my mind, body and spirit to the Goddess and the God, and to the religion and science of Witchcraft.  From this day forward, I will honor and respect both the Divine and myself.  I will hold two perfect words in my heart: Perfect Love and Perfect Trust.

I vow to honor the path I have chosen, the Divine and myself.  This is my will,

All say: So mote it be.

Ring the bell.

(Picking up the athame)

I stand before the Goddess and the God in this sacred place of power.  I open my heart to their spirit.  I open my mind to their wisdom.  I dedicate myself to the learning of their mysteries.  I dedicate my life to following the Wiccan path.  I vow to hold the ideology of the Craft in my heart and my mind for the totality of this lifetime, and beyond.

(Point at your feet) Blessed be my feet, may they always walk the path of the eternal and Divine light.

(Point at your knees) Blessed be my knees as I kneel at the altar of my faith, not in supplication, but in

thanksgiving.

(Point at your groin) Blessed be my womb that holds and produces the creation of the human essence.  I

vow to guide, protect and teach the children of the world.

(Point at your chest) Blessed be my heart that it may beat steady and true.  May the warmth of my love spread

throughout the galaxy.

(Point at your lips)  Blessed be my lips that they shall utter truth and purity of mind and soul.  May wisdom flow

for the benefit of all humankind.

(Point at your third eye area) Blessed be my astral sight, that I may see through the veil of life with the truth of

the Divine.

Take a white cord and wrap it firmly around your hand, with the knife handle in your palm.  Now say:

I, (name) in the presence of the Universe, do of my own free will and mind, most solemnly swear that I will ever abide by the religion and science of The Craft.  I shall neither harm my fellow human with the secrets that I learn, nor shall I flaunt my beliefs or power before them.  I am not on this road merely because others were here first and pointed the way to me.  Rather, I made this choice for myself and here I shall stay.  I will not leave.  Henceforth, from this day, I shall be reborn as (magickal name) and shall honor, respect and cherish this oath I have taken.  This is my will,

All say: So mote it be.

Remove cord, place athame on altar.

Hold the chalice in the left hand, pour from the decanter with your right.  Pick up the athame in your right hand, and put the tip into the chalice, symbolizing the Great Rite and thereby consecrating the wine.

As the God enters the Goddess and they become one, so let this athame enter the chalice, consecrating both within the mysteries of the Universe and letting the power of this union flow into us.

Dip the dedication gift into the goblet and place it on your body.  Hold the chalice in both hands and say:

With the partaking of this wine I take into my body that of the Goddess, and seal my oath…forever.

Drink half of the wine, offer the other half to the God/dess.  Say:

Accept this wine as my offering of thankgiving.

Hold up the plate and say:

As grain is the bounty of the Goddess, and the eating of it denotes the sacrifice of the Lord and his rebirth, I seal my oath forever as I take into my body that of the Consort!

Pour more wine into the chalice, and share it with others, saying:

I share the Goddess with you as I share this moment with you.  You are witness to my dedication and the best part of me.  I rejoice that you are here with me now.

Give them each some of the cakes, saying:

I share the God with you as I share these cakes.  We are together in happiness, and I am glad of it.

Meditation and Discussion

This is time for reflection on the ritual, while eating the cakes and wine.  Discussion is appropriate.

Thanking the Deities

Starting at the East Watchtower, make the sign of the pentagram in the air at each point, and say:

I thank the Guardians of the Watchtower of the East for their protection and witness. We bid them hail and farewell.

I thank the Guardians of the Watchtower of the South for their protection and witness.  We bid them hale and farewell.

I thank the Guardians of the Watchtower of the West for their protection and witness.  We bid them hale and farewell.

I thank the Guardians of the Watchtower of the North for their protection and witness.  We bid them hale and farewell.

“I, (magickal name), wish to thank the Lord and Lady for presiding over this dedication ritual.  May we walk together within the light, forever.  This is my will,

All say: So mote it be.

Use the athame to close the circle, starting in the East and walk widdershins (to the left), sucking up the energy I laid down to cast the circle.  Then join hands and say:

The circle is open, but never broken.

All then say:  Merry ye meet and merry ye part, and merry ye meet again.
